Good Read and a chiller video

So I don't have too much to report on the Dawgs today. Since my last post, we have picked up to "war daddies" (if you are a fan of UGAsport.com then you know the verbage).

The Dawgs got verbal commits from

OL Watts Dantzler

and

OL Hunter Long

I was happy to see both of these fine young men make a verbal pledge to play between the hedges.

Still on recruiting news, there was some info that came out on Justin Garrett the ILB from Tucker. I thought Garrett was all Dawg honestly but after reading on him, I am definitely not getting that vibe - disappointed.

Also, Ray Drew made some rounds this past weekend. He visited UF and FSU, both for a short time. Sounds like to me that Drew knows where he wants to go but is trying to assure himself by going to other schools. I feel that Drew will sign with UGA. By taking these visits it gives him the assurance that he did do his homework. Great news for UGA if this is the case.

Now I am no Nick Saban fan but I did see this article about ol'nicky and I must say, IT IS IMPRESSIVE.

Anyone watched the world cup? I haven't been able to keep up with it too much either, but I was streaming it at work when Donnovan made the goal after the 90 minute mark to move the US to the next round - Incredible!
If you haven't see this video, it is a must watch, trust me, it will make your day!

Recruiting Update -

Ok, so I have been very slack trying to keep up this spring with what is going on. I do apologize for the neglect.
Let it be known that this neglect has nothing to do with my lack of excitement for the 2010 season. I have a lot of great things to post coming up after I get married in July. HOPEFULLY after that I can get back in the groove up posting the way I should.

Below is a list of the UGA verbal commits so far for 2011.

QB - Christian LeMay 6-2/200/4.59 Matthews, NC

WR - Justin Scott-Wesley 6-1/210/4.4 Camilla, GA

WR - Chris Conley 6-3/180/4.5 Dallas, GA

WR - Zach Witchett 6-0/185/4.43 Atlanta, GA

Center - David Andrews 6-2/275/- Norcross, GA

DE - Sterling Bailey 6-5/260/4.7 Gainesville, GA

ILB - Amarlo Herrera 6-1/224/4.74 College Park, GA

S - Corey Moore 6-1/195/4.6 Griffin, GA

ATH - Nick Marshall 6-2/185/- Rochelle, GA

ATH - Devin Bowman 6-0/175/4.49 Rossville, GA

ATH - Chris Sanders 6-1/185/- Tucker, GA

(In the picture from left to right: Moore, Conley, Bailey, and Herrera)

As soon as there is any additions to the list I will update again.

Something I would like to touch on is the conference changes or the potential of the SEC changing or expanding.

I have purposely not posted about this and there is two reasons for this.

#1 - I do not like the idea at all.

#2 - There is way too much speculation going on for me to even come close to accurately painting an SEC future picture. I will continue to not post about the expansion until I know what is going on and more than likely I will not like an expanding unless we brought in Texas and Oklahoma. I don't think it will happen though.

I hope to have some exciting recruiting news soon!

Obviously there is more prospects listed here than Georgia can take in 2011 but this is the list that I think we can sign. There is not one name on this list that I don't think Georgia has a shot with. Notice that I put Shannon Brown down on the list, I really think Georgia has a chance to steal him from Bama.

The others that might be an issue to draw in will be James Wilder Jr, Tony Steward, Charone Peake and James Vaughters.

As of now, I think Wilder is a Gator.

Steward is a Nole.

Peake is a Gamecock.

Vaughters is a Buckeye.
